Hello, I'll be flying to LA the 20th or 21st, and I will be staying somewhere on 6th ave near Hermosa beach. I'm going to the ISS Long Beach show on the 22nd and the 23rd. It is at the Long Beach convention and entertainment center. I'm working with a new screen printing company and we are going there to check out all the newest technologies and to take classes. By the way, I am from Alaska so I am really excited to escape this -30F weather! I will be the pasty white one partying on Hermosa beach like its summer with a family of Alaskan natives! So my questions are, how much sun does LA get this time of year? If I'm going to be running around with a tank top on, even though its not super warm, would I still have a chance of getting a sunburn? Usually I get a burn if I'm in the summer sun for only a couple hours, I am super white and pasty. So I'm trying to figure out if I need to get a light tan to protect my skin at all. (There is less than 3 measly hours of daylight here this time of year in AK) I will be outside a LOT, probably most of the time, so that is why I am asking. If I wasn't, I'd just use sunscreen. So what is your opinion, my Californians? Is the sun strong enough this time of year to give a pasty white girl a sunburn? Another thing I'm wondering is different places to check out or visit, and also anything about local music playing. I'd be able to walk to Hermosa beach from 6th ave, so any awesome places in that area I would love to hear about. I'm looking for places to just hang out, eat, and sight see. I'm into art and music of all types, so anything containing that kind of stuff would be awesome. We will be going to Venice beach on the 21st, and will be at long beach the 22nd and 23rd. If you know of anything awesome going on I would love to hear it. I'm more just looking to enjoy my time there and look around. I'm pretty much broke so nothing super expensive. Anything goes, REALLY! I really am into ALL kinds of music and art, the stranger, the better!! Please, weird me out!! Thanks Californians in advance!!! The cold one, Kristin... Read More »
